Discover your Family's Heritage with SAR.
Kansas City
Alexander Majors Chapter
Researching your family's history takes time and a lot of patience. Maybe taking someone many years for them to connect all of the pieces and to make some sense of their family tree.

Some relief is close by:

(1)  SAR has collected data from all of the applications for membership that it has received from 1880 until 1999.  The result is the SAR Patriot Index CD with about 610,000 family history records of Patriots and their descendants.  SAR applications contain vast amounts of genealogical data since each application must prove a line of descent to a Revolutionary War Patriot. Often this includes six to eight generations of a family lineage.

(2)  SAR has recently compiled the gravesites of Revolutionary Patriot and Soldiers. The result is a recently released CD with over 100,000 men  who served the cause of Independence. The compilation includes 40,000 of their spouses for a total of 140,000 names. If you can trace your ancestry directly back to one of these individuals then you have cleared one of the main eligibility requirements for SAR.
